iplplaynow is run by a small team of cricket writers and editors with backgrounds in sports journalism and data analysis. The editorial team is named on the byline of every story we publish. The publication is independent — we have no affiliation with the IPL, the BCCI, any franchise, or any fantasy operator.
How we work
We work to a published editorial policy. Every story carries a timestamp and a source where relevant. Probable XIs and player roles are labelled with confidence. Corrections are published with a dated note. The accuracy log is public.
We accept advertising on pages clearly labelled as sponsored. Editorial coverage is independent of any commercial relationship.
What we do not do
- We do not host fantasy contests or accept entry fees.

iplplaynow accepts advertising on a small number of pages clearly labelled as sponsored. Editorial coverage is decided by the editors, not by commercial partners. Where a story is sponsored, the page carries a "Sponsored" label at the top.

A note on editorial rhythm
Our editorial rhythm follows the IPL calendar. On non-match days, we publish team and player updates, role analysis, and longer guides. On match days, the news desk focuses on probable XI, role shifts and captain calls. Across the week, the venue desk refreshes the pitch brief for the upcoming fixtures.
The match-day desk publishes two update windows. The first runs in the morning at 06:00 IST and updates the day's fixtures with the latest squad announcements. The second runs 30 minutes before toss with the playing XI confirmed.
Across a typical match week, we publish roughly 20–25 stories. The week is anchored by the Monday accuracy log, which reviews how the previous weekend's predictions held up. Where a prediction was missed, we publish the reason alongside the correction note.
The publication does not run on a content calendar of marketing-led themes. The story list is set by what is happening on the field, not by what would generate the most traffic. This is the editorial independence our editorial policy is built around.
Who's on the desk
Editor
Decides story priorities, sets confidence labels on probable XIs, signs off on corrections and the accuracy log.
Match-day writers
Cover the day's fixtures — probable XI, captain calls, fantasy checklist. Publish in the morning and again before toss.
Player and team analysts
Run the player and team desks. Maintain the role table, the venue record per side, and the player profile updates.
Venue analysts
Maintain the pitch desk — surface behaviour, boundary size, average score, dew forecast, wind. Source from IMD and ground authority announcements.
Predictions desk
Publish scenario predictions with conditions. Maintain the accuracy log.
News desk
Cover squad announcements, role shifts, availability caveats, post-match review. Every story carries a timestamp and source where relevant.
Three things we will not do
1. Fabricate ownership or contact information
If we cannot verify a contact detail, we leave it off the page. The about page is honest about what we know and what we don't.
2. Promise winners
Predictions are published with conditions. If the conditions don't hold, the prediction is revised. Captain calls are scenarios, not certainties.
3. Disguise commercial content
Affiliate links are labelled. Sponsored content is labelled. Editorial coverage is independent of any commercial relationship.
